Categorising Alans work as jewellery is incorrect. To date his three dimensional work has been in the form of beautiful, humorous, small scale sculptures.

His precious figurative pieces are modern talismans, mini-theatres that tell stories both witty and wise. He uses the same traditional handcraft techniques that have been used through the ages in Irish metalwork. Movement is an essential element in his work, his characters sway with a kinetic energy that is carried through in his painting and sculpture.

Alans recent work features larger scale pieces in glass, bronze and precious metals. From the chaos of the universe and the human mind and working with elements created by the death of stars, Alan Ardiff has created order. His work is engaging, humorous and visually pleasing.
