Carlos Selles Pascual was born in Alcoy(Alicante), Spain, in 1966, where he still lives and works. Since his early years he has had a strong interest in painting. Pascual trained at the Arts Institute of Fine Arts in his native city, Alcoy, under the guidance of his father Carlos Selles, a very well-know artist in that area of Spain.

Through the years, he has developed a deep artistic personality, through the study of different painting techniques and the great Classical Master painters. He often uses many of their compositional techniques and references when constructing his own paintings but incorporates transparent overlays to give the paintings his own particular contemporary style and touch. He is now primarily known for his landscape/seascape subjects and is keen to evoke the mood in these scenes and their sense of place.

He has taken part in many exhibitons, and his works can be found in private collections.
