Claire studied at Edinburgh College of Art for three years, gaining a B.A.(Hons) in Design, specialising in Jewellery and Glass. In October 1996 she established her workshop in Birmingham’s historic ‘Jewellery Quarter’ and now sells through a host of galleries and specialist jewellery shops throughout the U.K. and abroad.

Much of Claire’s current work is inspired by her long standing fascination with fragile organic forms, tracing the effects that time and nature have on them. Collections take influences from uncurling leaves, shells eroded by the elements and seedpods opening and scattering new life. Sometimes a tiny detail becomes the main focus of the piece, like the rings featuring the vein patterns of leaves. At others the outline of the organic form is traced using precious metals. Each item has a pleasing delicacy, capturing the character of the original form, yet never sacrificing the important objective of wearability.
