'My works begin with painted marks, daubs and brushstrokes alongside watercolour shapes created with pipettes, sponges and brushes. As a starting point I plan compositions by layering the individual parts until the design takes shape. The images may be inspired by a particular location or memory of a place. Echoes of landscapes, memories, seasons and hints of architecture sit alongside bold abstract shapes. I blend the parts digitally and fine tune the colours. Many of the final pieces are based on memories of riding a Royal Enfield motorbike around India, taking in all of the bright colours, patterns and shapes. Ultimately my aim is to use the basic shapes found in all objects to create thoughtful and immersive imagery. '
