Jane Pritchard

Jane Pritchard is a ceramicist living and working in Buckinghamshire. Originally trained as a graphic designer, she changed careers taking an MA in Ceramics (UCA Farnham) in 2011.
Her current range of work centres on the theme of Renewal and how our environment (both built and natural) changes with the passage of time; also how 'new' contrasts with 'old' for example, smooth, white surfaces against dirty, rough textures and enhances both.

A recent, controversial, renovation of El Castillo da Matrera in Cadiz exemplifies this.

Her current vessels are inspired by a recent visit to the Palacio da Pena in Sintra, Portugal. They are made from porcelain with copper, cobalt, iron and manganese oxides. The cylindrical vessels are c. 15cm high, the tall vessels c. 26cm high and the plates and flat bowls c.30m diameter.
